Want To Get Involved?
HBOT4KYVETS, Inc
Over 877,450 invisible brain wounded Veterans returned home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Approximately 7,057 paid the ultimate price in combat. Over 250,000 have died after returning home from war from complications directly related to TBI/PTSD. We have a large need to educate the medical community, Veteran Service Organizations, the public, VHA and DoD, and state and federal legislators on how Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is healing the physical signature wounds our Veterans incurred.
Find Your Passion
Volunteering is great, and even if you find an organization you like, it’s important to explore what it is you like doing most within it. “[Take] stock of what it is you’re interested in and the field in which you’re interested in serving.” Start off as a volunteer, whether that’s serving on committee or volunteering at an event or calling that organization and seeing ways in which you and become involved. The three C’s of advocacy, Communication, Collaboration, and Compromise always accompany the three golden rules, be Polite, be Prepared, and be Persistent.
Advocacy as a Change Strategy
Advocacy can be an effective change strategy to achieve healthier, more equitable and thriving communities. Advocacy is the act of creating change by influencing decisions, practices, policies, and resource allocation within political, economic, healthcare, education and other social systems. It bridges the gap between community needs, evidence-based solutions, and the decisions made by policymakers and institutions, ultimately working to create a more just, equitable society. Advocacy activities can include educating, relationship building, organizing, coalition building, communicating, and lobbying. It enables nonprofits to shape the public debate on important social issues and ensure that underserved communities have a voice in the polices that impact their lives.
Volunteers
We are looking for organized, courageous, someone with patience, team player mindset, passionate and compassion for others, takes initiative, dependable, energetic attitude, selfless, motivated, and can work independently. If your passion is for Veterans and their issues, we would like to consider working with you in our quest to migrate HBOT forward as a standard of care for all TBI/PTSD Veterans just as the Israeli soldiers have received for the past decade.
We have received state funding for our treatment program beginning July 1, 2024, and anticipate a large need for volunteer support in an array of administrative, communications, event coordination, etc. If this aligns with your interests, you may contact Eric Koleda at ewk7405@aol.com, 502-938-1300 Cell or Pat Fox at pemfox@gmail.com, 219-741-8774 Cell.
